Challenges Facing the Life of Women in Saudi Arabia

Challenges Facing the Life of Women in Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia is one of the countries in the world where women’s rights have been ignored for centuries. No immediate action has ever been taken to ensure that their pleas are attended to. This has been an obstacle to many of them when they try to seek for justice. As a result of this, they have to bear in the following challenges, domestic violence; this is like a routine of any woman living in Saudi Arabia that they have to go through on a daily basis. Men would take laws in their own hands and physically abuse them as much as they want. Is there a solution for this? No solution at all, the solution can only be found in other countries but not Saudi Arabia since it is a county where women’s voice has never been heard. Gender inequality is the second challenge in the life of women in Saudi Arabia, if you look at the government offices in Saudi Arabia, 99% of those holding the offices are men, only 1% are women, and this came after years of struggles. Though they have that little percentage in the government ministries, their opinions have never been taken seriously.

Insecurity is the next challenge that is facing the life of Saudi Arabian women. Every human being has the right to security, and that is the duty of the government to ensure that all citizens are safe. This is contrary in Saudi Arabia, the only people who are safe here are men, and nobody has ever bothered to look into women security issues. This has left women hopelessness and prone to all types of insults. Some of these insults include sexual harassment which has lead to the spread of viral and bacterial infections in women. Lack of property education is another challenge that has been facing women in Saudi Arabia, for many years, education system in Saudi Arabia has not allowed women to proceed to a certain level. This has been a hindrance for most of them in seeking well paid jobs. As a result of this most of them are poor and relay only on their husbands as breadwinners. Saudi Arabia women also have no authority to contribute or make any decision in the house. Man is the overall decision maker, whether he is right or wrong, what he says is final. This is quite embarrassing. But there is hope for Saudi Arabia women in the future, government is trying to improve their education and amending new laws which might favor them if implemented.
